Cranbury Welcomes Tech Entrepreneur Austin McChord
Cranbury Elementary School was honored to welcome Norwalk-based tech entrepreneur Austin McChord for an inspiring visit this week. As co-founder of the Manresa Island Corporation and organizer of the National Havoc Robot League, McChord shared his passion for robotics, technology, and the exciting future of the Manresa Island Project with our 3rd–5th grade students.

Students are currently reading The Wild Robot by Peter Brown, a story about a robot finding connection and purpose on an island—just like the vision for Manresa Island! McChord tied in his real-world experiences, sparking student curiosity and making learning come alive.
Students also showcased Cranbury’s Pollinator Pathway project and expressed interest in becoming student advisors for native plantings on Manresa Island. We’re proud to see our students stepping up as environmental stewards!
